Students in the Capital will soon taste empowerment through plastic cards, and not just financially. Having taken engineering colleges across South India by storm, Any Time Education cards will soon be making an entry into college campus across Delhi.
Introduced by IDenizen Smartware Pvt Ltd two years ago, these cards are currently used by over 35,000 students, lecturers and administrators of over 40 colleges across South India.
“Smart cards are multi-application cards used for access control, monetary transactions, computer network access, usage of machines, laboratory facilities and usage of vending machines,” said president and CEO Girish Baliga. With a swipe of the card, students can pay fees, borrow books and also check attendance.
Baliga said these cards would shortly have e-cash facility, wherein students could use a fixed amount of currency within the college campus. The costs? Engineering students have had to pay Rs 100 per year for four years for the card. The infrastructure and software is provided by IDenizen.
