A woman becoming the President will not bring about any change in the status of women. Women in India do not enjoy even basic human rights. We cannot overlook the controversies that Pratibha Patil is involved in. More than a woman President, India deserves an honest and patriotic President. The UPA government should choose someone who is not tainted.
