'Take action against LTTE supporters'

Union Minister of State for Planning and Parliamentary Affairs V Narayanaswamy on Friday said that the Tamil Nadu Government should take action against supporters of the LTTE in the state.
The state is bound to take action against supporters of the banned outfit, he told reporters in Rameswaram.
Asked about India-Pak tensions, he said India only wanted Pakistan to eliminate the terrorist elements and put an end to their activities,and it did not intend to wage war on Pakistan.
"We have been pressing the Pakistan Government to act against terrorism, and handover those who were responsible for attacks on India," he said.
If they were not doing that,then the Indian army was ready to destroy the terrorist elements,he said."Our army is fully prepared," he added.
He said terrorism could be eradicated only by severe laws and people's cooperation.
On when Lok Sabha elections would be held, he said the Election Commission had suggested that it could be held in April.The UPA's tenure would come to an end by May.
