What are your major achievements since you took over as the Municipal Commissioner on July 21 this year ?

It is the people who will judge my work. So, I am just doing my work regularly.

How do you observe the problems plaguing the city ?

Recently I visited many localities where the roads and lanes are in a shambles. Roads in densely populated areas like Chowk, Dariyabad, Rajrooppur, Preetam Nagar are indeed in a very bad condition.

What measures are being taken to cope with the issue ?

We have planned to undertake a massive road and lane construction work just after this month. Tenders have been floated .

Any major development plan in view of Ardh Kumbh fair in the city in 2007 ?

Yes. The state government has released Rs 12 crore to NN. Tenders for various kinds of works are being opened. All works would be completed by December end. Our special focus is to give a good look to roads and streetlights in the city.

Despite tall claims made by the NN the streetlights are not working well ?
We have a plan to revamp the streetlight system . Orders have been placed for purchase of electrical fittings and others. Several high masts are being installed at various crossings and important places.
