Head, sales and marketing of Tata Motors, PK Verma told reporters on Thursday that the company's market share in terms of volume in the pick-up segment was 40 per cent nationally.

Verma said the pick-up segment, within the small commercial vehicles (SCV) category, was growing at a rapid pace in the last three years.

According to him, the company wants to grow higher than the industry average in the commercial vehicles (CV) category. The CV segment is likely to grow at 10 per cent to 11 per cent during the current fiscal. Out of three lakh CV units sold in the country, 52,000 of them were pick-up vehicles.

The pick-up industry was growing at 25 per cent in terms of volumes, Verma said.
