Ten killed, 35 injured in lightning

Ten people were killed and 35 injured when lightning struck a house where a 'Shradh' ceremony was going on in a village in Burdwan district in West Bengal.

Ten people were killed and 35 injured when lightning struck a house where a 'Shradh' ceremony was going on in a village in Burdwan district in West Bengal on Tuesday.

Relatives have assembled in the house for the ceremony and suddenly lightning struck them, killing ten persona on the spot, Superintendent of Police Rajaram Rajshekharan said.

The injured have been admitted to Burdwan Medical College and Hospital and the condition of some of them was stated to be serious, he said.
