The biggest excitement of the second day of the Cannes Film Festival was the arrival of actor Michael Douglas. A mob of fans gathered outside his hotel and the venue with hopes of catching a glimpse of the Oscar-winning actor.
Douglas walked the red carpet on Friday for the release of Oliver Stone’s Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.
The India Pavilion at the festival was opened by I&B secretary Raghu Menon but there was not a single poster of Anurag Kashyap’s Udaan — the first Indian film in seven years to have figured in the festival’s official line up. Instead, the Pavillion sported posters of India’s history and heritage.
Actress Mallika Sherawat and producer Subash Ghai were also present.
Actresses Aishwarya Rai and Deepika Padukone also walked the red carpet on Day 2.
