The ground hosted its first one-day international, between South Africa and India, in December 1992.
The New Wanderers has so far been host to 24 Tests and23 one-day internationals.
The stadium, which also hosted the 2003 World Cup final on March 23, is known as “The Bullring” for its electric, sometimes intimidating atmosphere.
Stands surround most of the field, although there is a small grassed area that is very popular with spectators. The Wanderers seats about 27,000 people and boasts 171 corporate suites.
Besides hosting the World Cup final, a Super Sixes match and three pool games also took place at The Wanderers.
