When he returned, Sunny was gone, so were his laptop, mobile phone and a few documents.

Kumar was planning to go to the police when a day later he got a text from Sunny. He threatened to post on the Net some intimate pictures and videos of Kumar and his wife he found in the laptop. He quoted Rs 25,000 as the price of his silence.

The text threats were coming thick and fast. Kumar gave in, told Sunny he would pay up. He was told to take the Metro and come to GTB Nagar, near Delhi University.
“Instead of going there, I approached the police,” Kumar said. The police found the idea of a “racy home video” amusing and even said he had committed a crime by making the videos, Kumar said.

It’s been 20 days since Kumar was robbed, but Sunny is yet to be nabbed. And, the police say he is very much in business. It was a sensitive matter so the police were moving cautiously, Ghaziabad assistant superintendent of police Amit Verma said. “He is active in the national capital region, we’ll soon nab him.” Last heard, three teams of the Ghaziabad police were on Sunny’s trail.
