The city police have arrested three people, including a couple, who were involved in illegal trade of arms, hundreds of car and bike thefts and robberies.

According to police, Naveen alias Monu, 26; his wife Mamta alias Kamla, 40; and their companion Deepak alias Deepu, 22 were arrested from a house in Dhanwapur, Khidki Majra on Saturday. The trio was involved in a robbery at a gun store in Hoshiarpur, Punjab two years ago.
The mastermind, Mamta, along with her husband has committed several robberies and fraud in Delhi and other places. The couple was inspired with the Bollywood movie 'Bunty Aur Bubli', the police said.
“They have connection with many gangs and are involved in supplying arms and ammunition from Lal Bagh (Madhya Pradesh),” a police officer said, adding that Deepak has been released from Bhondsi jail four months back.
Police have recovered two guns, an iron rod and one Bajaj Pulsor bike from them. The bike was robbed by Deepak in September from the Subhash Nagar area.
