A staff attendant of Rourkela Government Hospital, Mamata Badatia (30), and her nephew, Ratnakar, died when a speedying truck hit their two-wheeler from the rear at Panposh, on the outskirts here last night.
While Badatia died of her injuries in Ispat General Hospital, her nephew was still fighting for life in ICU.
Another 45-year-old man was killed on the spot in Kalunga here when a speeding dumper ran him over while crossing the road.
In the third incident, a 50-year-old cyclist was killed on the spot this morning on the ring-road here after he was hit by a speeding sand-ladden truck.
Driver of one of the vehicles was arrested while two others had escaped with the vehicles.
