Three held for raping woman in Arunachal

Three persons have been arrested for allegedly gang raping a woman at Naharlagun area for several days.

Three persons have been arrested in Arunachal Pradesh for allegedly gang raping a woman at Naharlagun area for several days, police said.

Four persons had allegedly raped the woman for several days last week when her husband was not at home. The woman could not gather the courage to report the matter to the police out of fear, the police said.

An FIR was lodged by her husband after he returned home.

Three persons were arrested on April 13 and the police was on the lookout for the fourth man.

Meanwhile, the state women's commission and Arunachal Pradesh women welfare society have condemned the incident.
