Three LeT terrorists killed in J&K encounter

The encounter, which began on Friday evening at Nakaal continued till early this morning.

Three terrorists of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba outfit, including a self-styled district commander, were killed and a jawan was injured in an encounter with security forces in Poonch district.

The encounter, which began on Friday evening at Nakaal under the jurisdiction of police station Gursai in Poonch district continued till early this morning, the sources said.

The slain terrorists have been identified as Abu Katad- district commander for Rajouri, Abu Mazan- an IED expert and Abu Murtaza, they said adding one Rashtriya Rifle jawan was also injured during the encounter and was later shifted to command hospital at Udhampur.

The recoveries from the site of encounter included two AK rifles with its eight magazines and 240 rounds, three UBGL grenades, two hand grenades, one kg of explosive, two matrix sheets, two radio sets and one multi-meter.

Meanwhile, police have arrested six suspected ultras from Sangla area of the same district, they said.

The suspected terrorists have been identified as Mohammad Afzal, Mohammad Altaf, Mishrad Ahmed, Farooq Ahmed, Rashid Ahmed and Bashir Ahmed- all belonging to Sangla village.
