Three terrorists among seven killed in J&K

Seven persons, including three terrorists and a policeman, were killed and four injured in separate incidents, while BSF arrested two militants and smashed a hideout in Jammu and Kashmir since Thursday night, an official spokesman said on Friday.

Seven persons, including three terrorists and a policeman, were killed and four injured in separate incidents, while BSF arrested two militants and smashed a hideout in Jammu and Kashmir since Thursday night, an official spokesman said on Friday.

Two terrorist identified as Ilyas Kashmiri alias Saifullah and Mushtaq Lone were killed in a fierce gunfight lasting nearly 18 hours at village Chanchiwari in Shopian area of Pulwama district in south Kashmir on Friday, the spokesman said.

He said three houses were also gutted during the encounter which broke out on Thursday evening when a joint search party of BSF and police raided the village to flush out hiding terrorists.

A Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist, Abdul Qayoom was killed in another encounter with BSF at Batmuran in Pulwama on Thursday. An AK rifle and some ammunition were recovered from him, the spokesman said.

He said terrorists shot dead constable Riyaz Ahmad of Jammu and Kashmir police at Lelhar near Lethpora in Pulwama on Friday.

A surrendered terrorist belonging to Ikhwan outfit, Tanveer Ahmad Parray was killed and two seriously injured when ultras opened fire on a taxi at Goza Mohalla in Hajan area of Baramulla district in north Kashmir this afternoon, the spokesman said.

Terrorists also killed a retired government teacher Mohammad Anwar Shah at Reshigund in Kupwara district, while body of an unidentified person was recovered from Kurhama in Anantnag on Friday.
