Tibetans pay homage to victims

MEMBERS OF the Tibetan community organised a prayer and lit diyas to pay homage to the victims of July 11 Mumbai serial blasts here in Sarnath area on Tuesday evening. Students and faculty members of Central Tibetan Institute for Higher Education lit diyas and observed two-minute silence to pay their homage to the victims of Mumbai blasts. Earlier, the speakers criticised the terrorist strike in the economic capital of the country and recited Pragya Parmita Sutra, the preaching of Lord Buddha, which started on 7 pm and concluded at 9 pm yesterday.

Students and faculty members of Central Tibetan Institute for Higher Education lit diyas and observed two-minute silence to pay their homage to the victims of Mumbai blasts.

Earlier, the speakers criticised the terrorist strike in the economic capital of the country and recited Pragya Parmita Sutra, the preaching of Lord Buddha, which started on 7 pm and concluded at 9 pm yesterday.

A special prayer of Lord Buddha was also performed for world peace. Chairman of Students’ Welfare Committee of the institute Meshi Yangluk said that the Tibetan community is with the citizens of Mumbai in such an hour of grief and sorrow.

Prominent among the Tibetan community members present on the occasion who criticised the blasts, included LN Shashtri, Lakya Kshering, Damdul and Tengin.
Meanwhile, in Bijnore cutting across all castes and religions, citizens of Bijnor assembled at the Nagar Palika Chowk of the town on Tuesday evening to pay homage to those killed in Mumbai and Jammu-Kashmir blasts on July 11 and to pray for peace, harmony and amity in the country. They kept silence for two minutes and lit lamps for communal peace and harmony in the country.
