The World Cup is reeling under a ticket fiasco for the final to be staged in Mumbai's Wankhede stadium on April 2. The ICC's legal head has written a strong letter to its own chief Sharad Pawar, asking the head of the tournament organising committee and Mumbai Cricket Association to urgently sort out what is fast turning into a public relations disaster for the governing body.

The ICC is bitter at how the BCCI, instead of nominating a central ticketing agency, has used state associations for printing and distributing tickets. That has not only delayed delivery of online purchases, ICC's own commercial partners have not received tickets due to them, which could have financial implications as well.

"The ICC is awaiting a response from him (Pawar) to decide on the further course of action," its media chief Colin Gibson said on Thursday.
