What is shocking is the fact that Shubham knew that it was a bomb. Before hurling it at a wall on which it exploded in a narrow lane he had threatened to blow off his friends Ashish (9) and Shobhit (8) after quarrelling with them over the game of cricket. One of the blown fingers of Shubham which was lying at the site of the incident gave enough evidence of the fact that it was pure luck which saved the children from the jaws of death in this densely populated locality.

A visibly shaken Ashish with a bandage on his leg told HT Allahabad Live at his house that Shubham who stays in the same locality came to his house and invited him to play cricket in front of his house. There he met Shobhit and Nitish 12.

Meanwhile a quarrel between Shubham and Ashish ensued over the game. Ashish said that after this Shubham told him that he had a bomb and he would blow him off. After this he picked up the crude bomb from a corner of the lane, fiddled with it and then suddenly hurled it towards him and Shobhit, said Ashish.

Shubham and Shobhit were rushed to a nursing home while Ashish with splinter injuries in one leg was treated by a local doctor. Since Shubham was in the hospital it could not be known where from he managed to get the crude bomb.

Although the neighbours were tight-lipped over the incident, one thing appeared quite clear that even kids of the locality have access to such deadly crude bombs. Now it is for the police personnel to find out as to how the little boy managed to get hold of this explosive.
