Tina wields paintbrush for a cause

The art connoisseur and perky Bollywood actress of 1980s was, hence seen busy painting in painter Jogesh Chowdhury's idyllic Santiniketan abode in south Bengal's Birbhum district.

"I am excited about this project. Also this is the first time I am visiting Santiniketan and I am enjoying every moment of it," Tina said, painting strokes with élan in a batik kurta and trousers and hair casually tied up.

She infuses life on "A Woman in a Sari" with Chowdhury looking on. The painting will be auctioned as part of a fund raising venture by Khushi, a NGO working with street children.

Chowdhury is impressed with Tina's mature brush strokes and colour sense.

"She is good and has an aptitude for painting. She has good sense of colour and she is sincere," Chowdhury told IANS from Santiniketan.

In April, Tina was in town to inaugurate Wasim Kapoor's 'Shades of Time' exhibition, which put on display 64 portraits of Bollywood actresses including herself.

She has been organising the Harmony Art show in Mumbai for 11 years.
