TN Govt gives grant to Bahrain victims' kin

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on Monday announced a solatium of Rs two lakh each to the families of 16 Tamilians, who were killed in a fire at Bahrain on Sunday.

Making a statement under Rule 110, Karunanidhi expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.

Reports said that the Indians working as construction labourers were hailing from Villuppuram, Cuddalore and Perambalur districts of the State, he said and announced the assistance on behalf of the Government.

Karunanidhi said the Centre was making all efforts to bring the bodies of the Tamilians to their homeland.
