Mandal coordinator Gyanesh Mishra led the delegation. Meanwhile, regarding installation of a 40-MVA transformer at Naubasta substation, KESCo MD said, “It will take another 15 days.”
After the installation of a transformer all problems related to overloading and tripping in southern areas of the city would be solved, the MD said. He also sought traders’ help in checking illegal connections in the area. “Illegal connections are one of the major reasons for the overloading and tripping in southern areas of the city,” the MD said.
The delegation pointed out specific areas reeling under power crisis, which included Kidwai Nagar, Yashoda Nagar, Naubasta, Govind Nagar, Baradevi, Barra, Dabouli, Gujaini, Bakarganj, Kidwai Nagar vegetable market and Naubasta Grain market. Traders also expressed concern over excessive rostering.
“Apart from routine rostering, power supply to the entire south city is regularly snapped during afternoons and evenings,” said Mishra.
He expressed concern on the renewed night rostering in the city. KESCo MD was apprised of the specific cases of theft in Naubasta during night hours when night rostering was under progress. “Incidents of theft have risen manifold in south city after the night rostering was resumed,” asserted Mishra.
Traders also made a demand for a speedy construction of a substation at Pashupatinath Nagar. Members of the delegation also made a demand for a timely replacement of defunct transformers.
The delegation also handed over a memorandum to the MD in this regard.
