Acting on a tip off, Rashtriya Rifle (RR) troops launched search operation in Nari village of Banihal tehsil in the district this morning, Lt Col S D Goswami said.

During the search operation, the troops recovered huge cache of explosives from a nullah in Nari area, he said, adding these were dumped in the area by militants for use later to create disturbances in the state.

A major tragedy has been averted with the recovery of these explosives, the spokesman said, adding however, search operation was continuing in the area to track down the militants.
