Travelling light is an art. However, don’t forget to carry the basics the next time you go on a trip.

In order to make your trip manageable and light, it is necessary that you carry some essential things with you while travelling. These essentials will not only make your trip organised and hassle free, but also a memorable one.

Ziploc baggies
These baggies are very handy and you can stuff small belongings in them. It helps you keep your gadgets organised and your tiny memory cards won't get lost either. They consume less space, are easily available and are dirt cheap.

Shoulder bag
A shoulder bag is something that can be carried everywhere easily. It accommodates important documents such as passports, I cards, pens, clips, mobile and telephone diaries.

Medical kit
Ensure you have medicines for different sorts of aches, hydrants, antiallergins and bandages. If you are allergic or suffer from a particular ailment, carry a prescription and your last health report if you cannot carry the file.

Shades are not only for that stylish look, but they also protect you from the ultraviolet rays of the sun and dust.

Travel towel
Travel towels save weight and yet serve the purpose. You can shove it in the bag and needs little space.

Rubber bands
Carry rubber bands of different sizes and widths. They can be used to keep things bundled or hold your clothing up to dry.

Pocket hand sanitiser
If you plan to camp or go hiking all day, a hand sanitiser is worth carrying.

Pocket Diary
It is a nice idea to write while you travel. It makes it memorable and lets you keep track of cities, phone numbers, exchange rates and other noteworthy places to go.

Locks are a must have as they guard belongings when left in rooms. Preferably carry an extra lock to lock the doors. If it is a combination lock do not forget to email the combination to yourself.
