Tricolour on towels irk Indian mission in Dubai

Indian flags printed on towels are being distributed in Dubai supermarkets.

Indian flags printed on towels were reportedly being distributed free along with a consumer product at Dubai supermarkets and the Indian consulate here has taken up the matter with the concerned company.

The Indian mission has asked the firm to withdraw the product promotion scheme with immediate effect since it was a clear violation of the Emblem and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act and Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act of India, a consulate press release said.
