The murders were carried out on the behest of land mafia, Lallu Yadav. Reward has been announced on the arrest of Lallu and his sharp shooters Chandan and Mukesh who are absconding.

Cops have recovered the Rs 1.6 lakh that was looted after the incident by the killers.

Those arrested include Deepak (who was among the killers), Subhash Yadav, Munna (who got the motorcycle used by the assailants, financed), Lallu’s brother Surendra and his friend Mahesh (on charges of keeping illegal firearms).

It was basically a fight for supremacy that saw an LDA contractor Thakur Prasad Yadav and his confidante Suresh and Sushil being killed recently. Police said Yadav had entrusted his sharp shooters, Chandan Pandit and Mukesh alias Guddu to carry out the crime. Police claimed that the ‘mission’ couldn’t be carried out completely, for one of the targets, Thakur Prasad Yadav managed to escape though an innocent rickshaw puller who was caught in the firing, died.

The cops had early on Saturday detained Lallu’s father, Chote Lal, Lallu’s brother Surendra and his friend Mahesh for interrogation. While Chote Lal was let off, Surendra and Mahesh were subjected to interrogation. Surendra, initially refused to identify either Deepak, Munna or Subhash but when the cops arranged for a meeting with Surendra and the trio, the former admitted that Deepak and Lallu were closely associated.

Subsequently, Deepak after his interrogation revealed that he along with Chandan and Mukesh alias bade bhaiya were working for Lallu Yadav for sometime now. Deepak said that Lallu Yadav had given Rs 25,000 to get the motorcycle, used in the murder, financed. Deepak admitted that he was with the shooters on the day the killings took place. He revealed that after carrying out the killings (he said that rickshaw puller was accidentally killed), he reached his place at his house at Neelmatha on his motorcycle (UP32 BH 2478). Soon, Chandan called him up on his cell 9838000118 and asked him to reach near Kanausi bridge. From here, Chandan and Mukesh who were already present there when Deepak reached the place went to meet Lallu on Deepak’s motorcycle.

SP (east) AK Rai said that Lallu’s brother Surendra Yadav and Mahesh were arrested along with firearms during the raid that was carried at Lallu’s place.
The two firearms seized from the accused are reportedly in the name of Lallu’s brother, Ganesh Yadav.
