"What we are reacting to is the statement by the Home Minister (P Chidambaram) that the Telangana issue needs further consultation and further discussions which we completely disagree with.
"(This is) because after having made a categorical statement that the process will be initiated (on formation of a separate Telangana state), now to go back on the promise will be nothing but keeping the issue in cold storage," Rao, who is the son of TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao, told reporters.
Rao, an MLA, said, "Therefore, all the public representatives in the Telangana region are for the first time in the last three years launching joint political action. Legislators from Congress, TRS and Telugu Desam are serious about their resignation."
