Petrol pumps stopped sale of petrol and diesel and only drivers of government vehicles holding pre-paid coupons could get oil from the filling stations and the stocks are dwindling, Mizofed filling station employees here said. Traders said the stocks of essential commodities like rice, potato, dal and other items would last only a few days and they were compelled to raise the prices due to higher transportation costs even as truckers in the state did not join the stir.

Acute shortage of essential commodities including oil awaits the people of this tiny state if the truckers agitation continues, officials predicted.
