The three were found shouting to passers-by to run for their lives and that tidal waves were coming in.

Three persons were arrested for trying to spread rumours about impending tsunami waves at the city's Marina beach area on Monday, police said.

Police said they were found shouting to passers-by to run for their lives and that tidal waves were coming in.

They were charged under IPC sections 506(2) (threat to cause hurt), 336 (endangering others' personal safety) and 341 (wrongful restraint).
