Two govt officials arrested for taking bribe

A local court sent two officers of the department of irrigation-cum-public health to three days police remand for accepting money from a contractor of Sarkaghat area of the Mandi district recently.

A local court sent two officers of the department of irrigation-cum-public health to three days police remand for accepting money from a contractor of Sarkaghat area of the Mandi district recently.

The trap was laid by teams of the state CID on the complaint of Balbir Rao. Assistant engineer Rajeev Sehgal and junior engineer Karam Chand were arrested while accepting money from the contractor near Hamirpur.

According to reports, as per the orders of the state government, both the officers have been placed under suspension and their properties are being verified at their native places and other places like Shimla, Chandigarh and Parwanoo
