The two — Shivkumar Raghuvanshi and Ramsevak Raghuvanshi, both hailing from Vidisha district — were arrested while transporting the explosives into a jeep without required permit, on the night of January 3, Superintendent of Police D P Singh said.

The explosive, ‘Nyojn 90 Gel’, used in stone mines, was neatly packed in 22 boxes with tags of a company from Royalgaon in Maharashtra, he said adding, the explosives were kept in the form of 4400 capsules. Around 44 electronic detonators were also recovered from the duo, who said they were transporting the goods from Karod village in Vidisha district to Sanvan village in Ashoknagar, Singh said.

A police team has been sent to Vidisha to gather information about Ramsevak and Shivkumar, who were arrested under the Arms Act and the Explosives Act, he said adding, a team has also been sent to Maharashtra to inquire about the explosives company.
