Two trawlers missing in Bay of Bengal

Two trawlers with 29 fishermen on board which had ventured into the Bay of Bengal were reported missing .

Two trawlers with 29 fishermen on board which had ventured into the Bay of Bengal were reported missing on Tuesday in the wake of severe storms triggered by a deep depression along the coast.

The trawlers -- one named 'Subhadra' and another whose name is as yet unknown -- had ventured out for fishing three days ago, said Swadesh Naik, MLA and president of Shankarpur Fishermen and Fish Traders Association.

The storm had probably led the trawlers off course, he said adding efforts were on to establish contact with the fishermen.
