Acting on a tip-off Tripura State Rifles jawans raided Jashmunipara, a tribal hamlet under Birganj police station in South Tripura district, and a 15 minute-long encounter followed when they were fired upon by ultras holed up there.

The ultras managed to flee in the neighbouring forest and a bullet riddled body of a NLFT insurgent and one AK 56 rifle were found during the search in the area, police said.

After another encounter between the TSR and the banned ATTF at Champabari under Jirania police station of West Tripura district, a bullet riddled body of an insurgent was found along with an AK 56 rifle.

In yet another incident, a joint team of police and TSR today busted a factory producing country-made guns at Karamcherra under Man police station of Dhalai district.

Three country-made guns were recovered and three persons involved in manufacturing illegal arms were arrested, police said.
