Two people were killed and one person was injured when unidentified men opened fire at a group of undertrials in Gurgaon on Monday.

According to Gurgaon police, two undertrials — Chhelu and Lal Singh — died and one Nain Singh was injured. He has been rushed to the hospital.

"The incident occurred near the Rajiv Chowk, while they were being taken to a court," said N Ahlabat, the deputy superintendent of police.

"Our personnel followed the gunmen and opened fire at them. One member of the gang was injured," Ahlabat said.
