Two W Bengal labourers die in fire

Two labourers from West Bengal died and three others sustained injuries after a fire broke out in their hut at Guindy early on Saturday morning.

According to police, Boro (22) died on the spot while Bhim Kapoor (18) succumbed to injuries in the hospital.



The incident occurred when they were cooking inside the hut, police said, adding that the others had been hospitalised.



Meanwhile, a fire broke out at the warehouse of a vehicle engine oil manufacturer at suburban Thiruvottiyur here late on Friday night.



Fire and Rescue Services officials said 10 fire tenders and water tankers and three foam extinguishers were employed to douse the fire at the warehouse, storing grease and various other oils.



No casualty was reported in the incident, officials said.



The reason for the mishap and the loss was yet to be ascertained, they added.
