The Council of Indian Muslims (CIM) in UKhas sought intervention of the Central Governmentin the Gujarat mass grave case and has demanded a CBI probe into the issue.

Describing the Gujarat government's decision to file cases against Muslims as "outrageous" and a "travesty with justice," CIM chairman Munaf Zeena said that "this is what the minorities, especially Muslims, can expect under a fascist Chief Minister like Narendra Modi."

"Punishing the victims for discovering the proof of the crimes of the fascist regime and its supporters and accusing them of destroying evidence is unprecedented in legal history," he said.

"The way Gujarat government has reacted to the discovery of mass grave in Pandharwada and Lunavada creates doubts that there are other mass graves andthe perpetrators of crimes against humanity are scared of their being uncovered," he said.
