Vet university demand cancellation of affiliation to private college

The students of veterinary livestock development diploma of Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences went on an indefinite strike on Saturday, demanding the cancellation of recognition given to a private veterinary college by the university in Bahu Akbarpur village.

The students of veterinary livestock development diploma of Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences went on an indefinite strike on Saturday, demanding the cancellation of recognition given to a private veterinary college by the university in Bahu Akbarpur village.

The protesters burnt the effigy of Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda outside the gate of the university.

The private college, they alleged, had come up due to political reasons and did not fulfil academic conditions.

The protesters alleged that the privatisation of veterinary education would lower the standard of treatment and management of livestock. The students have declared to continue the strike till the acceptance of their demand.
