A MAN was found brutally stabbed to death in Nazirabad on Friday morning. The deceased, Kammulal Basod, 36, a resident of Jhirnia village was a secretary with the Semra Bherupura panchayat and had gone to the Janpad Panchayat head office at Berasia on Thursday.

As he had gone on cycle and the distance to Berasia is quite far from village the family members were not excessively worried when he didn’t return in the evening and thought he would return the next day but his body was found near Shukla village today. Punia, a resident of Dhanora, spotted the body and informed the police.

He was apparently stabbed in the back and then attacked with sharp-edged weapon in the stomach and neck sometime during the night intervening Thursday and Friday. The throat was found slit, police sources said. The Nazirabad police registered a case and sent the body for post-mortem.

Sources said that Kammulal had an old dispute with one Prem Narayan, Sarpanch of the village, over the finance and administration of the village panchayat. The police are interrogating the suspects and launched a hunt for the accused.
