Poll surveys have sounded the death knell for the United Democratic Front (UDF) regime. But old warhorse AK Antony is unfazed.
The former CM tells Ramesh Babu why Kerala cannot afford another spell of Left rule.
It is time for the UDF to pack its bag, isn't it?
These surveys always give exaggerated versions. It is a close fight. The CPM will be disastrous for Kerala. In five years, Marxists will take the state at least 15 years back.
You said the election was a fight between Oommen Chandy and VS Achuthanandan?
The question is whether you want a forward-looking chief minister or backward-leaning one. I have good regard for Achuthanandan, but he is not fit to be a ruler.
How can you give reins to a leader who always swears by violence? How has Karunakaran's return affected UDF's prospects?
I tried my best to avoid a split. But I couldn't. I am happy Karunakaran's back. There are differences. But our first priority is to win elections
In case of a UDF victory who will be the chief minister?
Oommen Chandy is running the show well. He will continue to do so.
