'Walk of Fame' honour for Harrison's Bangladesh gig

New York's Madison Square Garden will mark the 35th Anniversary of ex-Beatle George Harrison's Bangladesh Concert.

New York's Madison Square Garden will mark the 35th Anniversary of late Beatle George Harrison's Concert for Bangladesh by installing a permanent plaque of the musician in the venue’s "Walk of Fame."

Harrison's widow, Olivia, will attend a ceremony scheduled to take place on August 1.

The presentation will mark the first time in Garden history that a concert or event is honoured on the Walk of Fame, reports Contactmusic.

The Concert for Bangladesh supported relief efforts by UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund. The 1971 charity show, which featured Harrison, Eric Clapton, Ringo Starr, Bob Dylan and Ravi Shankar, among others, is considered the first-ever star-studded benefit concert.
