Wedding caught in gotra dispute, couple get police cover

Apprehensive about their safety, the couple, Ravi Khanagwal and Kavita Nagar of Nangthala, are seeking refuge at the Narnaund police station.
Villagers who opposed the wedding argued that the girl was a minor, but the police found that she was of marriageable age.
The police said their main objection was that the girl belonged to Nagar gotra, the predominant gotra in Khanda. A DSP and the Narnaund SHO are in Khanda holding talks with them. Police officials said action would be taken against them if they take law in their hands.
