The Congress will win all four Lok Sabha seats in the state with the blessings of people and the names of party candidates would be announced in December.
This was stated by state Congress chief Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu at Nadaun on Wednesday. He added that winnability and loyalty to the party would be the main criterion for giving the party ticket.
He said the party would mainly concentrate on Hamirpur seat to overthrow the BJP from Hamirpur.
He claimed unity in rank and file of the party. He added that all leaders and workers were with Congress president Sonia Gandhi to ensure the party's victory in the Lok Sabha elections.
Sukhu justified the taking over of the control of the cricket stadiums in the state. He said the land was given to the HPCA society and not to the HPCA company.
“Since the HPCA-led by Anurag Thakur is a company, it has no legal right over the stadiums. Had they constructed the stadiums on private land, the government would have not taken control of those,” he added.
He said the Congress government was for promotion of all sports in the state and funds would not come in its way.
He, however, blasted the family of former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal for grabbing the HPCA through muscle power. He said fresh elections to the HPCA would be held on democratic basis and new office-bearers would be handed over the control of the stadiums taken over by the government.
Sukhu, who is on a two-day tour to the Nadaun assembly segment of the district, held talks with the party's booth in-charges and exhorted them to fan out in the masses to preach the policies and programmes of the Congress governments at the Centre and in the states.
He claimed that whatever the state was today was due to the progressive policies of the Congress.
He told them that he would visit the area for two days every month so that workers were prepared for the cause of the organisation.
Accusing the former BJP government in the state of ignoring the interest of the common people, he said the present Congress government in the state was doing its best to help the people solve their problems.
