Interestingly, candidates and wives have their own separate plan for the days and in one room of the election office, while candidates take meetings of the party workers, wives also have their separate meeting with the campaigners.

Anjali Gujral, wife of Naresh Gujral, SAD-BJP nominee and son of former prime minister, starts her day early in the morning at 5 am and after having quick breakfast, goes from village to village to urge voters for their franchise in support of her husband.

Although, she does not know Punjabi, she tries hard to make the voters understand the reason for he demand of vote in favour of her husband. She addresses as many as 15 to 20 political meetings every day.

"Look, by giving vote to Gujral, you will help us convert this village into a modern village," says she in one of meetings in the village.

Raj Bans Kaur, wife of Rana Gurjit, Congress nominee and sitting MLA of Kapurthala segments of the constituency, also starts her day early and takes meeting of the supporters in a systematic manner.

Claiming that her husband, Rana Gurjit Singh, will definitely win the ensuing election she says "As Rana has been proved a very loving, caring and faithful husband, I am sure he will be proved the same in his political life too".
