Woman, boy die after drinking water from unused well

A woman and a three-year-old boy died and several people were taken ill after they drank water from a well which had been lying unused for a long time in Maglamaud village of the district.

A woman and a three-year-old boy died and several people were taken ill after they drank water from a well which had been lying unused for a long time in Maglamaud village of the district,official sources said today.

Villagers said the people were forced to take water from the well yesterday because the handpumps installed by the government were out of order.

District officials had rushed to the village and water was being supplied through tankers, the sources said.
