A 24-year-old woman was allegedly burnt by her husband and in-laws for dowry in Aurai area of the district, police said in Bhadohi on Sunday.

A 24-year-old woman was allegedly burnt by her husband and in-laws for dowry in Aurai area of the district, police said in Bhadohi on Sunday.

The victim, identified as Suman was burnt by her husband Satya Narain and his father over a demand for dowry in Kolahalpur village late last evening, Station House Officer (SHO) Surendra Kumar Pandey said.

He said that a case had been lodged and efforts were on to arrest the accused.

The SHO said that Sumar got married to Narain two years ago.
