Gibson, a Great Dane stands 7ft 2in on his hind legs and is 3ft 6in at the shoulder. He weighs 12st 2lb and was named the tallest dog after Guinness World Records experts flew to California to measure him.

"I've had Danes since 1981 but I've not seen anything like this. Gibson is larger than life and puts a smile on people's faces," Sandy Hall, Gibson's ownener, was quoted by the Sun, as saying.
