The Dane was not even born when Date-Krumm made her debut at Roland Garros in 1989 but her sheer power completely overwhelmed the 40-year-old.
A sparse crowd witnessed the encounter after a late switch of courts but the sprinkling of spectators still managed a large cheer when the Japanese finally won a game in the second game of the second set.
Wozniacki next plays Aleksandra Wozniak in the second round after the Canadian beat another Japanese, Junri Namigata.
