Yet another PIL filed seeking ban on sale of Pepsi, Coke

A lawyer has filed a PIL in Allahabad High Court seeking to stop manufacture and sale of the colas.
A public interst litigation (PIL) for restraining Pepsi and Coca Cola manufacturers from manufacturing, distributing and selling of their soft drinks has been filed in the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court here.
The court, while declining to grant any interim order permitted the parties to exchange counter and rejoinder affidavits. The matter shall come up for hearing after eight weeks.

The PIL was filed by a local lawyer who pleaded that the soft drinks had been found to contain chemicals beyond permissible limits and were injurious for human consumption.
