Sterilization deaths: Drugs of Indore-based pharma firm sent to lab

Samples of drugs prepared by an Indore-based pharmaceutical company, M/s Zee Pharma, have been sent to Kolkata for further investigation in the sterilization deaths at Takhatpur, Bilaspur.

The company, which is in Kalani Nagar of Indore, had supplied a lotion which was used in the surgeries done the by doctors. As per the press note issued by Chhattisgarh government, the samples of Zelon Lotion were sent to Central Drug Examination Laboratory, Kolkata. Thirteen women have died and dozens more are in a critical condition after a sterilisation programme in Chhattisgarh went wrong.
