Teenaged girl raped inside temple in Madhya Pradesh

A 15-year-old girl was allegedly abducted by five youngsters and raped by one of them in a temple in Madhya Pradesh’s Jhabua district, police said on Wednesday.

A 15-year-old girl was allegedly abducted by five youngsters and raped by one of them in a temple in Madhya Pradesh’s Jhabua district, police said on Wednesday.

The incident occurred near Meghnagar town, about 15 km from the headquarters of Jhabua district, on Monday night. Police filed a case against the five youngsters on Tuesday evening and launched a hunt for them.

"As per the victim’s statement, she was abducted by five youths but raped by only one, Ravi," said ML Bhabhor, the officer in-charge of Meghnagar police station.

The victim was returning home alone after visiting a relative in Kacchar Todi village when the five youngsters stopped her at 8 pm.

"She was stopped near a pond and abducted in a Bolero by five youths. They all drove to a temple of Bijasan Mata near Meghanagar," said Bhabhor. He said the victim had said that one of the youngsters had the keys to the temple, which was locked.

"The victim told police that one of them opened the temple and dragged her inside. One accused caught both her hands and Ravi had raped her," Bhabor said.

Police three youngsters stood guard outside the temple when the victim was allegedly raped inside. They said the girl identified only two of the accused as Ravi and Zuber.

"The victim was not able to see the registration number plate of the vehicle in which she was abducted but identified two of them, who were residents of a nearby village. The accused identified till now are Ravi and Zuber, while the rest are to be identified," said an official.
