Newly-elected chairman of Madhya Pradesh Haj Committee, Inayat Hussain Qureshi, who hails from Indore, has said that he would demand a Haj House for Indore also.
Inayat was elected unopposed by 11 committee members at an election meeting held at the office of fisheries department in Bhopal on Thursday.
He immediately took charge of the office. Talking to media he said providing best facilities to pilgrims would be first on his priority list. He said that construction of Haj House in Bhopal would be completed before next Haj. "We would propose construction of another Haj house at Indore also," said Inayat.
All 11 haj committee members paid visit to BJP state president Nand Kumar Chouhan in the morning.
Sources say that name of the new chairman was decided in this meeting and all members were told to take a unanimous decision. After this, committee members reached office of Fisheries Department at Bhadbhada road to complete formalities of election.
Inayat Hussain was declared chairman unanimously. From here all committee members went to the BJP office again. After paying courtesy visit to senior leaders, the chairman proceeded to haj committee office and assumed office.
Chairman of MP Waqf Board Shaukat Mohd Khan, Iqbal Hussain Qureshi from Ujjain, Anwar Ahmad from Mandsaur, Mehndi Hasan representing Shia community from Bhopal, Naahid Akhtar from Anuppur and others have been nominated by the state government recently.
