The rally was flagged off from Maharaja Surajmal crossing. The participants of the rally, riding motorcycles, will go village to village in Kumher, Deeg, Nagar and Sikri subdivisions of the district to seek support for the agitation.

Earlier, farmers, led by Bhartiya Kisan Union state president Ambabata and youth wing leader Nem Singh, declared to begin the agitation from June end. They gave an ultimatum to the government to provide Yamuna water or face agitation.

“BJP government is ruling in Rajasthan, Haryana and Centre, but the government failed to provide Yamuna water through Gurgaon canal from Haryana,” said Singh.

The state government has ordered to release Yamuna water for Churu, Sikar, Jhunjhunu districts. Now, Bharatpur farmers are also demanding the Yamuna water.
